Signs of a Termite Infestation
Mud Tubes – Termites build mud tubes to travel between their colony and food sources. These tubes are often found on foundations, walls, or crawl spaces.
Hollow-Sounding Wood – Termites eat wood from the inside out, leaving a thin veneer on the surface. Tapping on infested wood may produce a hollow sound.
Discarded Wings – Swarmer termites shed their wings after mating. Finding discarded wings near windows or doors can indicate a nearby infestation.
Frass (Termite Droppings) – Termites expel frass, which resembles tiny wood pellets. You may find piles of frass near infested areas.
Sagging Floors or Ceilings – Extensive termite damage can weaken structural elements, leading to sagging or uneven surfaces.
